Former Jewish stores – example: the Löwenthal department store

The economic life used to be strongly shaped by Jewish citizens. For example, the largest fashion store was the Löwenthal department store, which in 1929 also became the most modern building in the city, when it was rebuilt in the Bauhaus style of the New Objectivity. Due to its destruction during the war and reconstruction measures, nothing of it remains today.
