Model
The Museum of Jewish History and Culture exhibits a model of the synagogue and the old rabbinate house, which was crafted in 1984 for the opening of the exhibition.
Since 1698 the synagogue had been located at Treibgasse. After the Jewish community had seen significant growth in the 19th century, it was decided to build a representative new building in 1892/93. On the pogrom night of November 9, 1938, members of the National Socialist regime set fire to the building and completely destroyed it. In the spring of 1939, the Jewish community had to demolish the remains of the building at its own expense.

With modern technology, in 2013, it was possible to create a virtual reconstruction of the synagogue. The construction plans preserved in the city and abbey archives made this possible. A film in the Museum of Jewish History and Culture presents the result.
One year later, in 2014, it was also possible to create a virtual reconstruction of the interior of the synagogue. The color scheme could no longer be determined with certainty, the design on display only shows a possible version.
